Make one thing the point
A weekend does not need six destinations. Choose one place you really want to spend time, then build the transport and overnight arrangements around it. A walk, a museum or a long lunch can be the center of the day rather than something squeezed between appointments.
Plan the edges; leave space in the middle
Check arrival arrangements, opening information and the journey home before setting out. Keep the rest of the day flexible enough for a closed door or an unexpectedly lovely street. Save maps for offline use and write down the address of your accommodation somewhere you can reach without a signal.
