Use the National Park Service’s planning pages for current transport, access, permits and trail information. Different activities have different requirements. Do not assume an old trip report describes the arrangements for your visit.
Choose one main outing
Build the day around an activity that fits your group, then leave time for travel and stops. A plan with room in it is easier to adapt if weather or access changes. Check the park’s safety and accessibility pages while choosing.
Keep the memory specific
Write down what you noticed and the place you were when you noticed it. Pair those notes with a few photographs. A trip journal becomes more useful when it distinguishes what happened on your visit from advice that needs checking again.
