Life between moves

One notebook for the next move

A simple way to organize questions, confirmed arrangements and the first days at a new address.

Separate confirmed details from open questions

Use one page for appointments and instructions you have received, and another for things to ask. Note who supplied an answer and when. Keep original documents secure rather than mixing them into a public travel journal.

Plan the first ordinary day

Think through what you will need before the boxes are unpacked: a way to make a meal, clothing for the next morning and contact information for important arrangements. Label an essentials bag so it stays easy to reach.

Use the official planning tools

Military OneSource provides moving resources and links to installation support. Use those services and the appropriate office for orders, allowances, command sponsorship and destination requirements. A personal checklist helps organize questions; it does not establish eligibility or approval.
