A calmer race morning

Make a simple plan for the part of race day that happens before the starting line.

Read the instructions that belong to this event

Find packet pickup, the start location, parking or transport, bag rules and any course time limit on the organizer’s current page. Save the relevant information offline. A familiar race name does not mean the arrangements are the same as last year.

Pack by the order you will need things

Place your bib and required identification where you can reach them first. Keep familiar race clothing together and set aside a dry layer for afterward. Charge the devices you actually use, and decide which items can stay at home.

Agree on the finish-line plan

Choose a specific meeting point outside the busiest exit area. Tell supporters what you will be wearing and how you will reconnect if phone reception is poor. Leave room for queues and delays so the day does not depend on everything going perfectly.
